Devon and Cornwall Powerlifting Championships
October 6 2019
This competition will see Joe Humphrey and Louis Phelps competing. Joe will be in the 93k senior mens category whilst Louis will be in the 105k senior equipped mens. Both will be aiming for national qualification.
British Masters Classic championships
Mark Townend and SBB friend Scott Simon will be looking to improve on their last year’s podium positions of bronze and silver at the British Masters classic champs. Coaches Helen and Charlie will be there to help them through their campaigns.

Royal Wootton Bassett Academy Powerlifting Club

Details: Following the success of 2 years of the Powerlifting club running at RWBA and being part of 2 incredible sports days, RWBA has invited Swindon Barbell to continue their Powerlifting club throughout the autumn and winter terms.

New College Powerlifting
Location: New College Sports Centre
Information: Swindon Barbell has a long-standing connection with the forward-thinking New College and has run Powerlifting clubs there since the club started back in 2015. The club has seen successes such as Emily Jane Sheppard who competed at the European Powerlifting Championships in 2017. It has also seen a huge turn over from college club to Barbell club members and those participants going on to compete at both novice and regional level.
This academic year the club is looking to return with one of its former members coaching, Kat Armstrong.

Invictus Games Powerlifting
Swindon Barbell’s head coach Charlie Shotton-Gale and coach Mark Townend will be part of the Invictus games Powerlifting Team coaching staff and will be supporting the team leading up to the games in October 2020.
Swindon Barbell has been working with Disability Sport Swindon to support all a variety of physical and mental abilities access strength training.
January will see the start of a new club – Inclusive Powerlifting!
Inclusive Powerlifting coaches, Iszy Mckerracher and Kat Armstrong, will be providing coaching and guidance on Powerlifting and strength training for all abilities.
This group will be lead by Lewis Bird, Swindon Borough Council Community Health and Wellbeing Team, pushing forward Inclusive Sport in Swindon.
